Helston Chiropractic Clinic
Meet the Staff
After previously working with many of Cornwall’s teenagers in residential care as well as working as an artist, I am very excited to be working as part of the team in Helston where I have lived since I was a small boy.
After years of trying different types of therapies for my ‘slightly achey’ back, it was chiropractic treatments that finally convinced me that aches and pains don’t have to part of life just because you’re old, injured, or in my case ‘just because I’m tall’.
It’s strange how feeling the effects of, what can often seem like unusual but magical, adjustments can have a positive effect on the way that you can take control of your health and your life. For some that might be reducing medication or feeling able to take up an old hobby or sport, but for me in 2006, it gave me the energy to begin a Masters degree in Chiropractic at McTimoney College near Oxford.
Since beginning my ‘journey’, I am constantly reminded and amazed by the differences that Chiropractic care can make to people’s lives and feel fortunate to be a part of it.
Hi, my name is Niki and I am a CA at Helston Chiropractic Clinic. Mine is likely to be the first voice that you speak to at the end of the telephone and the first person to welcome you when you walk through the door.
My job is to help to make you feel at ease when you come in as well as to help our doctors and therapists to run procedures smoothly and effectively.

Chiropractic Assistant

.
I have experienced chiropractic care on a regular basis for a number of years and it has, through that time kept me healthy, both inside and out as well as keeping me healthy through both of my pregnancies.
I believe that chiropractic care has so many benefits, whether you are young or old, fit or immobile, and I enjoy seeing the positive progress made by so many of the patients that visit us.

Acupuncturist

My journey into acupuncture started over 20 years ago when I was offered acupuncture sessions to alleviate back pain from a car accident and has since progressed with me having been trained as a Five Element acupuncturist to administer the ancient art myself. Initially I didn't understand the full benefits of all that acupuncture can offer until I tried it as an alternative to Western medicines for something different.
When I mention to people that I'm an acupuncturist they often tell me about problems with their back and neck pain, knees, joints etc but not everyone is aware the wide variety of ailments that might respond well to acupuncture. Conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, tinnitus, eczema, headaches, arthritis, insomnia, PMT, menopause, sickness, IBS, diarrhoea, hay fever, tiredness and post Covid symptoms are just some of the health issues that acupuncture has been used for. In Five Element acupuncture, it is believed that by nurturing and balancing the mind, body and spirit/soul, your unique life force, Qi (pronounced Chi), is able to begin its own self-healing process; I look forward to supporting you through your unique healing journey.

Counsellor
Every counsellor has their story and it seems a long way back that during my A levels I considered a degree in Psychology but decided instead to go the route of languages and business. This led me into a career in IT based in London, travelling for work to the US, Russia,Ukraine, Kenya, Egypt and Mozambique. This travelling allowed me to see many different cultures and ways of being in or understanding this world. My IT career then led me into contracting in the NHS where I experienced the reality of working there and got to understand the pressures staff were under, even before the tumultuous events of 2020 and beyond.
The stresses and pressures of the life I was leading led me to an interest in holistic living and spirituality, and this resulted in me qualifying as a reflexologist. That introduced me to working with clients and in doing so I realised I wanted to focus on helping people with their inner worlds. This then led to me qualifying as a counsellor and setting up Gosowes Counselling.
Since then things have grown and I have become well established as a therapist on the online platform Better Help, and run a thriving practice in Helston, including therapy for couples.
